Unified Partner

Unified Partners (individuals without intellectual disabilities) train and compete as a teammate with a Special Olympics athlete on a Unified Sports Team. You will become teammates and friends with our athletes on and off the playing field. Whether you are a sports junkie, recreational enthusiast, or competitive athlete, there is no better way to combine a love of sports with the rewards of volunteer service than by becoming a Unified Partner for Special Olympics Colorado! All of our teams are co-ed and Unified Partners range in age from 8 through 80 years old.

Below is a list of sports we are seeking Unified Partners for:

Flag Football, Basketball, Soccer, Bocce, Bowling, Golf, Track & Field, Volleyball, Softball, Figure Skating, Cross Country Skiing, and Tennis.

If you would like to be a Special Olympics Colorado Unified Partner, please complete the following:

If you are 15 years old or younger, please complete the following:

  1. Submit Class A Volunteer Application (online or print version.)

If you are 16 years old or older, please complete the following:

  1. Submit Class A Volunteer Application (online or print version), including a copy of valid photo ID.
  2. Protective Behaviors Quiz (online)
  3. Concussion Training Quiz (online) Email Certificate of Completion to classa@specialolympicsco.org.
  4. 18 years old (and out of high school) or older only- Background check (A link to a specific type of background check will be emailed to you once your Class A Volunteer Application has been received. The fee for a background check is $16.)
