Volunteer of the Year presented by EKS&H: Jeff Evans

IMG_0799Jeff Evans began volunteering for Special Olympics Colorado 30 years ago. He first began volunteering through his company, TCI, as a “ski-buddy”, later joining the Games Organizing Committee as the Olympic Town Director, a position that he has held ever since.

In addition to serving on the Summer and Winter Games Organizing Committees, Jeff volunteers his services as a DJ at several other events, including the Polar Plunge Series, Mardi Gras and more. Jeff is always there, rain or shine, sleet or snow, to make sure that all of the athletes and participants can experience the joy of music. This past March, his true passion and dedication shone through when he volunteered at the Aurora Polar Plunge, Mardi Gras and Winter Games all within the same weekend.

In Jeff’s words, “I get to be part of something bigger than me. These incredible athletes give me so much more than I could ever give back.”

For his many years of hard-word, unselfish behavior and dedicated service to the athletes of Special Olympics Colorado, we are honored to recognize Jeff Evans as the 2016 Volunteer of the Year.
