Want to join Special Olympics Colorado?
Special Olympics Colorado is open to people of all ability levels. Children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities are eligible to participate. People without disabilities are invited to join our program as volunteers, coaches and Unified Sports® partners.
New Athletes Are Welcome!
Want to be on a Special Olympics Colorado team - train and compete in a variety of Olympic-type sports? The following are a few steps to get you started:
1. All athletes must complete an Application for Participation form. This is a medical clearance as well as a release of information. Click here to download and print a form. To download a form in Spanish, click here. Once the form is complete with original signatures from a parent/guardian, physician, physician’s assistant and/or a nurse practitioner, return the form to the Southeast Area office.
2. Contact one or more of the local program coordinators in your area to determine which program works best with your needs and schedule. The program coordinators can tell you what sports they are offering as well as when and where practices will be held.
3. Attend practice, at least 8 weeks of training prior an event, and become a part of the Special Olympics Colorado team!
Volunteers Welcome!
Special Olympics Colorado relies on volunteers to help our organization and events run successfully. Please visit our Volunteer page to get involved.
