Families

Family members of a person with intellectual disability often feel confused and alone. Getting involved with Special Olympics gives families a support network providing them acceptance, resources, hope and a chance to become advocates – making them a valued voice in our movement.

Families Make a Difference
Colorado families play an important role in the accomplishments and growth of the Special Olympics Colorado organization. SOCO families are volunteers, speakers, coaches, fundraisers and supporters. Families of athletes are first-hand witnesses to the life-changing effects Special Olympics has on their child/sibling/loved one.
