Statewide Competitions
 In addition to nearly 100 area-level competitions, Special Olympics Colorado hosts several statewide competitions every year. These sporting events vary in size and venues, but they’re all packed with fun and the Special Olympic spirit.
The tentative line up for state competitions in 2008 includes the following events (check back often for updated information):
Winter Games
March 2 & 3, 2008 - Copper Mountain Resort
The Winter Games mark the culmination of the winter sports season for the 550 athletes who participate annually. Six sports are included in this competition: Alpine skiing, Cross country skiing, Snowshoeing, Snowboarding, Figure and Speed Skating.
Basketball Tournament
March 22, 2008 - Gold Crown Field House, Lakewood
The state basketball tournament is one of our largest state competitions; each year more than 500 athletes and Unified Sports® partners participate.
Summer Games
May 31 & June 1, 2008 - University of Northern Colorado
The Summer Games mark the culmination of our spring sports season and is the largest competition SOCO hosts each year. This year more than 1,100 athletes will participate in five sports: aquatics, athletics, soccer, powerlifting and gymnastics.
Fall Classic
November 8, 2008
SOCO Fall Classic - 480 athletes & Unified Sports® partners compete in volleyball and bowling at the state level.
