Join law enforcement agencies from throughout Colorado to ignite the “Flame of Hope” and raise money for Special Olympics Colorado
9:00am | Day of Registration
10 – 11 a.m. | Park at the Pepsi Center Prius Lot and shuttle to Civic Center Park
11:00 a.m. | Line up in Civic Center Park
11:15 a.m. | Cross the street and stage runners on the West steps of the Capitol
11:30 a.m. | Torch Run Ceremony, West Steps of the State Capitol
11:45 a.m. | Two-mile run/walk, 16th Street Mall
12:30 p.m. | BBQ and music, Pepsi Center Prius Lot South
On the West Steps of the Capitol Building in Denver, three flames unite into a single torch creating the “Flame of Hope”, which guides runners/walkers down 16th Street Mall to the Pepsi Center. Later that week, the Flame of Hope will make its way to its final destination, Grand Junction – the site of the 2019 Special Olympics Colorado Summer Games!
About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
LETR is Special Olympics’ largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. Law enforcement (the Guardians of the Flame) and athletes, light the “Flame of Hope” at events and competitions throughout the state to embody unity and inclusiveness.
