Planned Giving Private philanthropy through planned gifts is becoming the foundation of almost every nonprofit organization in this country, including Special Olympics Colorado. To preserve the memory of a loved one, to fulfill a moral obligation, to express gratitude, and to demonstrate deep-felt humanitarian concerns are just some of the reasons people contribute.
While the Greeks believed in mythical gods who ruled from Mt. Olympus, all of us at Special Olympics know there is nothing mythical about the real people who ensure generations of athletes will have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams. Anyone who provides for any Special Olympics entity in his or her plans, regardless of the size of the gift, becomes a member of the Olympus Society. You will receive a unique Olympus Society pin, a certificate proclaiming your level of caring and an invitation to a very special Olympus Society event planned for the Fall 2001. To let us know you have put Special Olympics Colorado in your will, please click here to fill out our Olympus Society membership form on-line, or download the form and return it to us by mail or fax. Deferred Gifts A life payment plan, or deferred gift, can allow you to make a substantial gift to Special Olympics while still providing for your personal financial need during your lifetime. These types of plans are attractive to many donors because they offer substantial tax benefits and may increase cash flow to the donor or other beneficiary, depending on the asset contributed.
