WHO PLUNGES SUPPORT

Every Plunge makes a difference for more than 22,000 Special Olympics Colorado athletes. Special Olympics Colorado offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round sports training and competition. Through Special Olympics’ athletic, health and leadership programs, people with intellectual disabilities transform themselves, their communities and the world. Funds raised through the Polar Plunge help to support programs such as Young Athletes, Unified Sports, Healthy Athletes and Athlete Leadership Programs, to name a few. What is the Plunge?

reduced file size smiles

You’ve never jumped into frigid Colorado waters in the middle of the winter? Well, we can help change that!

Each year, the Polar Plunge challenges thousands of brave jumpers at numerous locations around the state. It’s a great way for everyone—individuals, organizations and businesses—to get involved in supporting Special Olympics Colorado. All funds raised go towards programming and events for more than 22,00 athletes statewide.

Think you have what it takes? The concept is simple: participants raise a minimum of $75 and take a dip into one of Colorado’s frozen lakes (or a pool). But the Plunges are so much more than that: They’re the kind of fun and thrilling events that you really have to experience to understand. Grab some friends, get pumped and register today!

Team Challenges and Incentives

The Polar Plunge Team Challenge consists of Plunge teams competing in separate categories to see who can raise the most funds (only online funds are counted), facing off at the local Plunge level. At the end of every Plunge season, the team with the highest raised dollar amount is crowned the overall winner! Can you say bragging rights? Form a team with your co-workers, classmates and more and join the Team Challenge today.
